Paris, 27/11/2022 (MAP) - The Atlas Lions have signed a "magnificent performance", Sunday, after beating Belgium 2-0 in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, said president of the Arab World Institute (IMA), Jack Lang.

"Moroccan and Arab soccer shines once again! I am proud and happy for Morocco," the former French Minister of Culture told MAP.

"I send my warm congratulations to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan team and Moroccans," following this "tremendous" victory, which will rejoice all Africa and the Arab world.

Recalling the organization at the Institute, four years ago, of an exhibition on soccer in the Arab world, which had honored Morocco, including photos of great national soccer glories of the 50s, the president of the IMA stressed that this beautiful victory arouses much emotion and joy in France, and "will help to seal a little more the deep ties between France and the Kingdom".

"The victory of Saudi Arabia and today that of Morocco illustrate the deep transformations that soccer is experiencing in the Arab world," he added.
